About Francesca Marguerite Maxime'

Francesca Maxime' is a certified mindfulness meditation teacher, poet/author, and digital/broadcast journalist/TV Reporter and Anchor/Host in New York City. Most recently, she worked as a Special Correspondent for PBS NewsHour. She has worked on-air in New York City, Philadelphia, and Boston. As a Haitian-Dominican Italian-American, she is a member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists, & National Association of Black Journalists.

She has reported live and first-hand, on such national stories as the Paris Attacks, Occupy-Wall Street, the capture of Osama bin Laden, 9/11, and the Catholic Church Abuse Scandal.  She has interviewed Blake Lively, Matt Damon, Donna Karan, James Franco, Zoe Saldana, George H.W. Bush, John Kerry, Charles Schumer, Mitt Romney, Michael Bloomberg, among others.

Her first book of poetry, "Rooted: a verse memoir," was published by NYQ Books in October 2012. Her second book of poetry, "Re-Routed: Verse for the Human Animal" was published in 2013. She has been nominated for three Pushcart Prizes in poetry; and, has received three Honorable Mentions in the Allen Ginsberg Poetry Awards.
