Meet our amazing panel!

MARJA VONGERICHTEN

Marja Vongerichten is the host of PBS's TV series "Kimchi Chronicles," which airs in the US as well as internationally. She is also the author of a companion cookbook "Kimchi Chronicles: Korean Cooking for an American Kitchen." Along with her husband, Jean-Georges Vongerichten, Marja opened a Korean barbeque restaurant named “Chi-Q” in Shanghai, China in 2014. Chi-Q won “Best Korean Restaurant of 2014, Shanghai Best 50” award by Shanghai WOW, and recognition as “The Top 12 Things We Ate in Shanghai in 2014” on Time Out website. Marja has her own brand of pop up Korean restaurant called “Kimchi Goddess,” that she features in colleges and universities, such as American University in Washington, DC, in partnership with ARAMARK, Inc. Marja has helped to introduce Korean food and culture to America.

Marja has appeared on numerous national and local TV shows such as "Martha Stewart,” NBC's "Today Show,” CBS's "The Early Show,” ARISE, and various radio shows. She has contributed articles and interviews for magazines such as Bon Appetit, Food and Wine magazine, Harper's Bazaar, Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Weight Watchers, The Cook’s Cook and CNN. Marja travels the world doing public speaking, cooking demonstrations and food-related events. She has been named Honorary Board Member of the Sejong Cultural Society. She was named "Korean-American Woman of the Year" in 2011 by “KoKo Living,” a Korean American lifestyle magazine. Her book was named one of the best cookbooks of 2011 by “YumSugar. JANET CHUI

Janet Chui was born in Singapore. Since childhood, she found refuge and expression in drawing things both real and imagined. She is a professional artist who has created fantasy, spiritual, and mythological paintings over her lifetime, and in 2009 she was a finalist for the World Fantasy Award for Best Artist. Janet has a bachelor of arts in journalism and is currently studying counseling psychology. She has experienced motherhood, divorce, Tibetan Buddhism, healing, and the supernatural, all of which encouraged her to help others heal through self-acceptance and creative expression. SERGE KAHILI KING

Serge Kahili King, PhD, is the author of many works on Huna and Hawaiian shamanism, including Urban Shaman, Instant Healing, Dreaming Techniques, and Huna. He has a doctorate in psychology and was trained in shamanism by the Kahili family of Kauai as well as by African and Mongolian shamans. Dr. King is the Executive Director of Aloha International, a non-profit, worldwide network of individuals who have dedicated themselves to making the world a better place. As an author, Dr. King has published the world’s largest selection of books and digital media on Huna, the Polynesian philosophy and practice of effective living, and on the spirit of Aloha, the attitude of love and peace for which the Hawaiian Islands are so famous. CLAUDIA WELSS

Claudia Welss is Chairman of the Institute of Noetic Sciences (IONS) and with the Global Coherence Initiative. She invited HeartMath to coach cor-porate executives while director of executive programs at the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business, and to join the Digital Earth/Digital Mind initiative for the International Symposium for Digital Earth. TRACEY RITCHIE

Tracey joined EARTHDAY.ORG as the director of education in January 2018. Most recently she was adjunct faculty at the University of Florida and has held positions from Florida to North Carolina, managing and facilitating environmental education programs. Tracey holds a PhD from the University of Florida, where she focused on developing systems-thinking skills in students and teachers to more effectively communicate about complex environmental issues such as climate change.

CATRIONA MACGREGOR

Catriona MacGregor has led Vision Quests and Nature Quests for twenty years in the US & Scotland benefitting participants from 8 countries. Called “Nature Girl” since childhood, Catriona is a descendant of the indigenous people of Scotland. Catriona managed the largest coastal sanctuary in the United States, stretching over 600 miles. Her program led to the comeback of an endangered species & was awarded the Blue Ribbon in Conservation by a former US President. Meet Our Amazing Panelists!

HELENE LERNER

For more than two decades, Helene has been addressing the concerns of contemporary women. As a prolific author, independent public television host, Emmy Award-winning executive producer and Fortune 500 workplace consultant, she covers a wide array of women’s issues—from breaking barriers and work-life balance, to health and wellness, to relationships and building self-esteem. Under the umbrella of Creative Expansions, Inc. the company she founded in 1994, Lerner has produced more than 20 televised specials and received American Public Television’s (APT) “MVP” award for her outstanding contributions to public television. She is also the author of 13 books including The Confidence Myth: Why Women Undervalue Their Skills and How to Get Over It, Time for Me: Simple Pleasures for Women who do too Much, Smart Women Take Risks: 6 Steps for Conquering Your Fears and Making the Leap to Success, and What Makes a Strong Woman?

Helene began her work life as a teacher in the New York City public school system. Using her natural business instincts, she later pursued a career in sales and marketing during the 1980s, working her way up through the ranks of The New York Times. Early in her career, Lerner also successfully fought a significant weight problem that transformed her life both professionally and personally and fueled a passion to empower other women.

She launched her own company to independently develop media with the common denominator of providing women with what she once lacked: the support and information needed to overcome obstacles and make the most of their lives.

JADE TAILOR

Jade is an American television and film actress, probably best known for her role of Kady Orloff-Diaz in the ongoing fantasy TV series “The Magicians” (2015-2019), while she has also appeared in other popular TV series such as “True Blood” (2010), “Aquarius” (2015), and “Murder in the First” (2015), among many other successful projects.

Jade is also an ambassador of the National Women’s History Museum, which is the largest online cultural institution dedicated to US women’s history; as well as, When We All Vote, shaping the promise of our democracy through voter registration and participation.

DANIELLA COFFEY

Daniella Coffey is a woman of Faith Family and Business. Growing up in an entrepreneur household, Daniella’s father had humble beginnings with only a 6th-grade education migrating from the south of Indianola Mississippi. She was taught early and often to get an education and be her own boss. These entrepreneurial teachings are the foundation of her family’s legacy and a testament to how she helped lead her father’s business to 1.5 million in revenue and who she is today.[+] Show More

Meet Our Amazing Panelists!

ROCHELLE RILEY
Rochelle Riley ended a 20-year career as a nationally syndicated, award-winning Detroit columnist in 2019 to become the City of Detroit’s Director of Arts and Culture. In that role, she guides the city’s investment in the arts and creates opportunities for transformative artistic expression and support. Her most recent project was the nation’s first city-wide memorial to victims of Covid-19: 15 funeral processions that circled the city’s Belle Isle past 907 photo billboards of victims. But Rochelle also remains a writer.
Her latest book “That They Lived: African Americans Who Changed the World,” hits bookstores on Feb. 2, 2021. The author, essayist and arts advocate still hosts conversations around the country (or did before COVID) with her current book “The Burden: African Americans and the Enduring Impact of Slavery,” hosting conversations about the burden America still bears by refusing to deal with the aftermath of American enslavement. She was just appointed to co-chair Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s Black Leadership Advisory Council.

REVEREND KEVIN ROSS
The Reverend Kevin Kitrell Ross is a south side Chicago native who now serves as the Senior Minister of Unity of Sacramento, the first Unity church in the State of California. He is regarded as a respected interfaith social justice leader, committed to building bridges of understanding and cooperation across race, culture, class and religious lines.
Whether in his role leading one of our nation's most diverse and integrated congregations, conducting diversity and implicit bias experiential trainings for faith, and governmental organizations, or being an outspoken activist for healing the crisis between law enforcement and communities of color, Rev. Ross is dedicated to strengthening communities through dialogue, direct encounter, and education.

SASHA GAYE ANGUS
Sasha-Gaye Angus is the President & CEO MANNA, Inc., serving low and moderate-income families, assisting them to fulfill the dream of homeownership in Washington, DC. Since 1982, MANNA created and preserved nearly 1,200 units of affordable housing for low and moderate-income DC residents and homeowners have accrued over $160 million in equity. They financial literacy and homeowner training program has been replicated more than 200 times across the nation.

JAMON JORDAN
Jamon Jordan is an educator, writer & historian. Also known as Baba Jamon, he has been a teacher of African & African American history for 20 years and a researcher of Black history for decades.
He has given over 100 tours and presentations for Detroit Public Schools, Walled Lake Public Schools, and numerous charter schools, as well as university class groups from Wayne State University, Michigan State University, Georgetown University, New York University & the University of Michigan.
His lectures on Detroit's African American history has been featured in the Detroit News, the Detroit Free Press, CBS Radio, Deadline Detroit, NPR, C-SPAN, CNN, the History Channel, Detroit Public TV, WDET, Michigan Radio, 1200 WCHB, 910 AM, and WHPR.[+] Show More
