I recently had the privilege of meeting the renowned artist and makeup professional, Viktorija Bowers, at The Artist Summit. Our introduction was initially virtual, facilitated by a mutual friend and colleague, Matt Balzarini. When we finally met in person, our rapport was instant, and we shared many memorable conversations.
Before Viktorija took the stage, many of us were already engrossed in the words of the other speakers. Their speeches were poignant and moved the entire room, leaving many with misty eyes. I observed Viktorija gracefully illustrating, creating a stunning watercolor. When she began her presentation, she delved into her creative journey, describing how her drawings often transition onto a model's face. As she demonstrated her techniques on her model, Mary, it was evident that Viktorija is a consummate artist.
A commonality among makeup artists is the preparatory phase before a job. This includes streamlining our kits for the subsequent assignment or project. Many artists aim to reduce the bulk of their kits, and part of this process, or "kit ritual" as Viktorija calls it, involves depotting products to make them more portable. Recognizing this need, Viktorija and her team developed an impeccable modular case, crystal clear in design, to house lipsticks, cream foundations, blushes, lip conditioners, and select liquid foundations.
Kit Ritual was officially launched in October 2023. For makeup artists, the resilience and adaptability of the Kit Ritual palette is nothing short of impressive.
